On November 25th, 2011, The International Queen Fan Club in association with the Mercury Phoenix Trust held a "Freddie Mercury Tribute" concert at the Clapham Grand, London. The concert was aimed at celebrating the life and work of the late great Freddie Mercury on the 20th anniversary of his passing, and all proceeds were donated to the Mercury Phoenix Trust. With the support of Spike Edney and the SAS Band, the line up of talent included Tony Vincent, Kerry Ellis, Chris Thompson, Madeline Bell, Patti Russo, RockChicks Susie and Zoe, and a special guest appearance by Brian May! As you will see from the photos below, Tony was totally PUMPED at this gig, giving one of his most powerful and electrifying performances to date, with killer vocals and his unique presence--working the audience (and the tambourine) from the moment he walked on stage in true showmanship fashion. He opened his set with Queen hits "Now I'm Here" then, "I Want It All" and finally "Hammer To Fall". He later returned to the stage with Kerry Ellis for a brilliant duet of "Under Pressure" and then opened the group performances of "We Will Rock You" and "We Are The Champions" before joining for a concert finale of "You're The Voice" (led by Chris Thompson) and the Beatles classic "With A Little Help From My Friends". An incredible night was had by everyone--Freddie would have LOVED it!
