Tony landed the role of "Judas Iscariot" just three weeks from opening night of Jesus Christ Superstar at the Ford Centre for Performing Arts on Broadway.  He was originally cast in the role of Simon Zealots.  The show previewed from March 23rd 2000 and opened on April 16th 2000.  During it's run the show received nomination for "Best Revival of a Musical" at both the 50th annual Outer Critics Circle Awards and the 54th annual Tony Awards.  Tony also received an Outer Critics Circle nomination for "Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical".  Jesus Christ Superstar closed on Sunday, September 3, 2000 and the charismatic Tony gave it gusto on stage in that classic red Gucci jacket for a total of 161 performances.
